Affordable House Design
For this project AutoDesk Software was used to design a house for a client that followed Habitat for Humanity requirements.
Notes:For this project we had learn how to use AutoDesk to make our shed, and we were now applying that knowledge to designing a home for a client. We were required to speak to our client, and then based on their surey design a home that fits their request, as well as, Habitat for Humanity requirements. This project took approximately 2 months including taking time to discuss the PLTW Lessons 2.3.1-2.3.11. In those lessons we learn how to incorparate green substaniable features, calculate water loses, and even plumbing plans (i.e. more information was given than just listed). Even though affordable housing design project was the most meticulous, and time consuming project I have done in a PLTW Course, I enjoyed this project the most out of all of them. I enjoyed being able to use the AutoDesk Software, apply housing requirements to my design, and talk to a client about a house design they will like. My client was Mr. James, and he had taught me different features of a house that I did not know because he had recently designed the house he is living in now. In class Mr. Zeroth had gone over all the information for this project, and taught me how to use the software, as well as, find crucial calculations that are needed for a home to be built properly (i.e. water sewage). The most important part I've learned from this project was the ability to hear what a client wants, and then to apply those request to a design for a home. I also learn different home requirements for access, plumbing, and electrical that I hadn't known before.
Files:
I have given the files to the main papers I used in this project.
All of these papers were included in my binder that I turned in at the end of this project.
