Take-a-ways from activity worksheets: |
My main take-a-way from the activity worksheets was the concepts that we later applied to the projects we had built. The activity worksheets helped explain and demonstrate concepts that I wouldn't have understood without the worksheets. The worksheets acted as homework would for other classes. These also included ways to apply formulas we usually haven't seen before in math and science.

Take-a-ways from projects: |
I had learned an abundance of information from the projects we had done in POE. I learned how to use CAD to construct a project ahead of time, how to sketch an idea and then build it in reality, and using technology to make your machine movable. I also learned from these projects that it is always better to comprehend the problem to truly develop a solution. I had enjoyed these projects, and thought they really showed how to apply what we learned from power points to real life problems. For example, I never thought that making a machine to sort materials would require so many different aspects of knowledge, but it actually required more than I even knew existed.

Take-a-ways from group projects: |
I learned this year how to successfully work well with someone else. Previously in school I had never worked well with others, and always wanted to just go with my idea before listening to anyone else. This year I learned that working with someone is actually beneficial. I had the same partner for much of my projects, and without her there would've been many problems I came across that I would't have known how to solve. Working with a partner also taught me how to communicate, and work together not against each other. I really enjoyed getting to know her as a person as we went through stressful situations. By having a partner I was able to not always give up, and continued improving our project.

Take-a-ways from overall course: |
I overall liked this course more than I did IED. This course involved more hands on projects. Even though it was a challenging course i enjoyed being challenged. There was also certain projects that had felt it was an open lab. Overall I still feel that the engineering field would be a good career for me to pursue, and I look forward to taking the civil engineering course next year.
